If you haven't been able to tell from my tweets and posts, the Little Lady and I are visiting family in Oklahoma. I was born, raised, and educated in this state and I absolutely love it! Never, EVER, did I plan or anticipate living anywhere other than right here in "Green Country." Growing up, I vowed I would never marry a Texan (like so many of my family did) and I would NOT actually move there.
So much for being adamant.
Despite having lived in Texas for nearly eight years, I still (and probably always will) consider myself an Oklahoman . . . just don't call me an Okie. I HATE that term!

I love coming home; as our plane neared the Tulsa airport, I tried to point out familiar landmarks to a very disinterested little girl (who can blame her though -- she had other things on her

Each day since has been wonderful -- some days have been activity filled, such as visiting the local farm shown in these photos; other days have just been quiet, simple, and comfortable in my parents' home.
As you can see from the pictures, this area, my home, is beautiful. There's no other way to put it. Heck, even my shoes look good in Oklahoma.

If I could convince my husband that life is better here, that we NEED to live here, I would. I would move back in a heart-beat. I miss the trees, rivers, lakes, hills, and family that reside in this state. It's incredibly hard being over 9 hours away -- seeing family only 2 or 3 times a year.
So, Hubby, I guess what I'm saying is . . . you can add "Move to Oklahoma" to my Christmas List. In fact, put it at number one.

So beautiful and peaceful. I love the last picture the best. I could see that up on a wall and I would probably stare at it all day.
Oklahoma is beautiful! I can see why you love it there!
Hi, I've been following you on Twitter. I love these pictures of your home. It's a green view of OK that we rarely see, and reminds me of western Penna where I grew up. I like you am 9 hours from home and miss it terribly at times. My wife said once, after hearing me wish for it yet again, that I can go. "But the kids and I will be staying here."
these pics are fab...and now i have a different take on OK. we got lost on the way to TX one time...and all i saw were tumbleweeds and dust and well, i wasn't in the best mood since we'd already been in the car forever and driven through the night. now, i think maybe i would go to OK...so thanks for a new view!
Great! Now I'm homesick! I grew up in PA which has some scenery that is pretty darn close to that. I want to move home too but hubby says NO MORE SNOW!
It is so beautiful there! I know how hard it is to live away from family! I hope you enjoy the rest of your time at Home!
Stunningly beautiful pictures! I grew up just north of Tulsa in KS and we pass through there to get to my Mom's. Thank you so much for sharing. I love your adoption story as well. What a blessing! Looking forward to seeing what adventures your family is up to in the future!
Those are some gorgeous pics! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to live in an area like that. I think I'd even like a small farm. (too big means too much work).
The pictures are beautiful! Enjoy your visit.
Not only is it beautiful there but you captured it's beauty in the most incredible way! Yes, even those cute little shoes of yours look great there!

It's beautiful. No wonder you want to move back. The pictures really are stunning. Glad you are enjoying your visit home.
Those pictures are beautiful! We took the boys to OK for the first time a couple of months ago and they loved it, everything was so new: "Look! A stop light in Oklahoma!" It was very cute:)
Beautiful scenery
Love the shoes!
Very beautiful pictures. And your shoes are too cute! Where did you get them? I want a pair!

Home sweet home! Who says you can't go home again? You better when it's this beautiful. Enjoy!
Great pictures:-)
Geez. You are NOT helping encourage me to move where my future hubby wants.
He wants to go to freakin' ALASKA!! Atleast you can go out in a tanktop and shorts if you want to. I'll be a flippin' eskimo with frozen curls and I'll have to use sled dogs to get to work every day and have my food dropped off by planes every three months.
*sigh*
I'm gonna miss Oklahoma :(
Hey - it just could happen afterall! I never thought I'd move back to MN, but almost 6 years later and HUBBY'S IDEA to move, we did it! And even sweet that it was HIS idea. Here's to moving "home." It does look beautiful.
i do love those shoes!
great post. your love for your home state just shines!

These pics make me want to visit Oklahoma one day! I would like to see what fall is really like. Living in So. Cali I don't really get to see it!
Beautiful pictures, we have a lot of the same scenery around here, and I love it!
Beautiful pics, Rach...
You okie you.

Those pics are gorgeous! I would want to live there, too. And your shoes did look lovely. Did you purposely coordinate your shoes for the fall weather?
Well, I have only been to Oklahoma as a pass through to some where else. Not much to see from the expressway. Your pictures make me wish I had stopped and taken a look.
What a beautiful area! It's always so nice to go back home. I hope you get your holiday wish, I'd want to move back there too.
Very beautiful pics. My aunt's husband is from Oklahoma and they go up there all the time. Oh and I've learned you can't talk to him during an OU game LOL
The pictures are beautiful! I'll get in touch with you when I want to get busy with my blog. I've had some things come up that will keep me from doing much blogging but hopefully I'll be back to it soon.
so beautiful!
These are great photos! I love the border that you used.
Beautiful pictures! I live several states away from my family and it can be so hard. Enjoy your time at home!
Rachel what beautiful pics, the last one reminds me of the book the Road Less Traveled.
You never know. Maybe you'll get back there someday! Lord knows, I never thought I'd be back in Iowa. But I managed to live there twice since leaving for a year a piece!
Hey! I could 'swing by' and visit! My mother lives in Tulsa and I am only 2 hours away! I have lived in OK all my life and I absolutely LOVE it!! It's not all tumbleweeds & covered wagons like a lot imagine.. ;). Beautiful pics!!
your photos are fabulous! i just love that last one!!!
Rachel!
Oh my goodness,
I haven't visited in a while and I yet I see you and I have the same shoes!!! :->
And for your well-being I hope that "Move To Oklahoma" gets moved to the top of your Christmas list.
