Dressing herself is one of her daily activities and goals. Poor thing -- she can put a pair of shoes on (albeit on the wrong feet) and she put on her pants/shorts (though, they are usually inside out and backwards). The ability to put on a shirt, however, alludes her.
She tries and tries and tries, but the result is always the same

She tries putting shirts on over her head . . . but her arms never seem to end up in the right places.
She tries putting them on by stepping into them . . . but a shirt will only go up so far when your legs are in the arm holes.
Eventually, when she finally realizes that her attempts only end with incapacitation, does she turn to Mommy or Daddy for help.
I guess we are still good for something.

Ssoooooooo cute lol. I miss her so much!
That is hilarious! Gotta love independence! :)
My son loves to do it by himself too! I actually revel in the experience of watching him in his independent mode. Great pictures too!
Well, of course it's BY HERSELF -- what are you trying to do stifle her? =)
Enjoy the few moments that remain where she still thinks you're good for something. It goes away when they're almost 12.
Trust me.
So adorable!
It's always nice to know we're still needed.
This stage can be maddening...heaven forbid you are in a hurry to go anywhere!
Wait until she starts wailing...there's nothing in my closet to wear! LOL
Too cute. At least she's trying
My youngest son is the same way (he's almost two himself). On the one hand it kills me to see him so independent but on the other I am so proud of him for trying things for himself.
Ah yes - indepence....a double-edged sword! Seriously! She'll get it....and then she'll want to pick out her clothes, but really - by that point, you won't care if they match or not. :-)
Independence comes so young! Good thing you are still needed at times!
That is so funny. :) She's a determined little thing, isn't she? lol
Haaaa! Yeah...this sounds familiar. Jonathan gave up doing it pretty easily and now just lifts up his arms and says "On!"
LOL. She is too cute! I have an independent little one, so I totally understand. ;)
oh the joys of letting our children grow wings so they can someday leave the nest. Here’s my photo story. happy Friday!
Umm, yeah, we've kept her in the dark about the possibility of putting on her own shirt. Everything else she insists on doing herself! Our bigger annoyance is that she wants to climb into her carseat by herself. EVERY time. It takes FOREVER!!!
What a precious post! Great idea to catch these little milestones on film..
Love the new look to the blog!
