Each morning, it begins -- these thoughts that take over my brain, consuming my day. I think on it while taking care of my kids, imagining the worst possibilities and how they, my sweet babies, would be affected.
Last night, after Mr. Boy's 3:30 AM diaper change, I couldn't go back to sleep thanks to thoughts that kept swirling round and round and round my sleep deprived brain. Did I have all I needed to be prepared? Should I go to the store and start stocking up on the essentials? Will Hubby be around for all that needs to done? Will my children be safe during this time? How do I know when I've done enough to prepare?
Yes. 3:30 AM. Thought after thought. Question after question. All because it's the first week of November, which means . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I. Am. Ready. To. Start. Decorating. For. CHRISTMAS!!!!
(isn't it just so sad!)
Yesterday, I spent HOURS mentally cataloging my trees (yes, plural), ornaments, nutcrackers, and general decorations. I researched stocking patterns, as I've decided that THIS year I am making personalized stockings. I even began making a list of the sweets and goodies that I want to make (mmmmm . . .Divinity and Toffee!).
Please, someone -- ANYONE -- tell me that I'm not the only one!

Oh I am so incredibly jealous of you. Since we're moving December 18th, we're not going to bother decorating the house. It's going to be so dreary here for the next month and a half!!!
You are NOT the only one!! I have been dreaming of Christmas for a while too!
insane.
for certain.
sorry.
;)
Nope. I'm not there yet. ;)
You are not at all insane. I've been thinking about it, too. Now if only my motivation will catch up with my intentions. ;)
BTW, your blog looks great... and The Little Lady made the cutest Dalmatian I've ever seen!
Yes dear sister.....I too am wondering too about christmas decoratons. For the first time ever, I am going to buy a big tree, christmas wreath, porch decoratons....you get the idea. I am not sure what type of decorations I want. Hang in there....you have some time until the day after thanksgiving to decide what you want to do!
I'm right there with ya!
I've never made divinity...make extra for me. LOL
You're not the only one. I'm mostly done shopping, just a few more things to get, and I'm ready to decorate. I had everything except the tree done before November 4, 3 years ago when my 2nd son was born preemie, and it was a good feeling to seemingly coast through the holidays. There was nothing that *had* to be done after his birth except the tree, and that was easy enough during a naptime. I like recreating the feeling of how relaxed that year was through Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Yes, it's that time. But I reserve that for the week of Thanksgiving. Although starting alittle early this year might be good since it's our turn to host this year.
You are NOT insane! I normally always start my decorating/get fresh tree the weekend of Thanksgiving. I wanted to do it BEFORE Thanksgiving this year but since we are going away that weekend, I am hestitant to leave a poor real tree with NO WATER for four days. Ha. So the tree will wait till the Sunday after Thanksgiving but I've decided my other decorations NEED to make an appearance sooner this year! And I just ordered my baby boy's first stocking. Can't wait!
Soooooo...the comment on this post AND the last one that says its from my hubby Big D? Um, yeah, it's not! LOL It's from me! He never logs off. Grrrrrr. LOL
You're not insane! I put my tree up this weekend :) I love decorating early! Merry Christmas
While I type this my litle boy is watching Frosty:) The kids trees will go up sometime this week!!! Then outside decorations and the BIG tree the weekend after Thanksgiving!Go for it! Merry Christmas!
